Show Notes:
When you’re a beginning teacher, you’re worried about implementing the most effective strategies, procedures, routines, and lesson plans. While those are important aspects of teaching and classroom management, there’s another component you need to consider. I’m talking about your mental health and having a positive teacher mindset, an often overlooked classroom management tool.
I’ve talked on the podcast before about why having a positive mindset for teachers is so important, but I’ve also included it inside The Classroom Management Club. One of our members, Alicia Ulrich, finds our tools and resources associated with mindset to be essential in her success as a beginning teacher. Alicia, who lives in Montana, is going into her third year of teaching. Something that’s unique about Alicia’s teaching experience is that she teaches something different each school year. For this reason, along with many others, is why The Classroom Management Club is so helpful to her.
Despite Alicia working with middle school students, she still finds the Club incredibly useful. Alicia shares how she’s used The Classroom Management Club to reframe the way she sees herself as an educator and the ways she’s used its resources in unexpected ways. Many teachers join the Club for various reasons, and Alicia is honest about her struggles and the type of support she receives from others inside the Club. With so many resources, tools, and strategies, Alicia also highlights her favorite strategies, trainings, and takeaways that have helped her find success as a beginning teacher.
I’ve always wanted to provide teachers with practical strategies they could easily implement in their classrooms, but I never imagined the value resources toward mindset for teachers could have on their ability and success as teachers. Alicia is a testament to what affirmations and a positive mindset can do for teachers. She is committed to personal growth and has overcome the struggles of a beginning teacher with the help of The Classroom Management Club. The Club has been a safe and supportive place for Alicia, and I know it can be the same for you!
