Inspiring Teacher  βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ

Mrs. Friesen was my grade 2 teacher and I still remember her as being one of the most inspiring people I have been blessed to encounter. Mrs. Friesen taught me that I could do anything I set my mind to. This was something that my anxious 7 year-old self needed to be reminded of often, and she did just that. She truly made every student feel cared about and supported, regardless of their personal situation. After being in Mrs. Friesen's grade 2 class,  I was inspired and I knew I wanted to work with children in some capacity as well. I'm now 21 and pursuing a university degree that will allow me to do so. I will never forget the care that Mrs. Friesen showed each of her students. I can only hope that one day I will be able to impact a child's life as much as she impacted my own. Give this podcast a listen... this teacher is truly changing the lives of children in her classroom and she has a lot of advice to share. - Mackenzie G., Former Student (Alberta, Canada)

Dear Lori,

William B. Yeats once wrote that “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire." I feel this quote exemplifies everything you are as a teacher and everything I hope to one day achieve in my teaching. Your presentation about Survival for Beginning Elementary Teachers addressed so many areas that a future teacher wonders about but never really understands until they have begun teaching. You have solved this problem. You provided your students and future peers with an insight into what you have discovered and what we will soon discover for ourselves. THANK YOU!
