Show Notes:

If you've been struggling with making sense with data collection, you are going to love this week's conversation with Dawn Ellis from Cultivating Exceptional Minds.

Dawn has been a special education teacher for 10 years. She has taught preschool through fifth grade in various settings such as inclusion, resource, homebound, and self-contained. Dawn has an Ed Specialist degree in Early Childhood Special Education but is also certified in general education too.

Dawn was the District V Teacher of the Year in 2017 for Alabama. She has presented at district and state-wide conferences about her journey and other special education topics. She is also a podcaster and coach for special education teachers. When not teaching, Dawn enjoys being at the beach, drinking coffee, reading and working on her teacher created materials/blog.

Inside this episode, you will learn:

  • Five simple, effective ways to start collecting data more consistently.
  • A fantastic teacher hack for keeping data organized and easily accessible online.
  • How to help students take more ownership in IEP data collection.
  • How to organize your student data in one centralized location.
  • A new twist on sticky notes that will help you with your formative data collection!
