Show Notes:

What would you do if you were given $1000 to spend on your classroom? πŸ€―I’m sure your mind is filled with ideas of everything you want in your classroom to help it run more smoothly, engage students, and create a fun space. During our giveaway earlier this year, I was so excited to give $1,000 to an amazing new teacher, Leia Hunt, so she could check off some things on her wishlist!

Leia has overcome so much as a childhood cancer survivor and now she is giving back by raising money for children and their families in their fight against cancer. She has the biggest heart inside and outside of the classroom and has such a passion for teaching and positively impacting her students. Leia is finishing up her student teaching placement and will be teaching first grade at the same school where she student taught.

Leia has so many plans for her classroom and how she is going to put the $1,000 to use! Between her ideas and what she learned in the R.E.A.D.Y. for School Academy, her classroom is going to be so organized, efficient, and FUN! She is so excited to jump into her first year as a first grade teacher to put everything she has learned in the academy into play.

In this episode, Leia is sharing her plans for the $1,000, the top things she wants to buy for her classroom, how she felt when she was gifted the Academy from a colleague, what she feels she has more control over now that she’s in the academy, and what she is most excited about having her own classroom. Leia’s energy, excitement, and passion are truly contagious and you cannot help but to feel inspired when listening to her.

I would LOVE to be able to gift many more new teachers with grants to help them get their first classroom going! If you know of any corporations, organizations, or connections you have that could help make this a reality, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s brainstorm and work together to find a way to support more new teachers!

Inside this week's show, you'll learn:
