Show Notes:

The path to your first job as a teacher may not go how you expect it to and that is absolutely okay! Sometimes the unexpected and nontraditional paths lead to an amazing opportunity. That’s how my guest today, Beth Bowe, ended up in her position where she is happier than she ever thought she could be.

Beth Bowe started out subbing and quickly realized that she was meant to be a teacher. She went back and got her alternative certification before interviewing for a fourth grade position that she didn’t get. When the resource teacher retired two months into the school year, Beth took over her position and was able to utilize the R.E.A.D.Y. for School Academy resources and information to thrive in her new special education position!

Beth was new to education and was looking for a one stop shop for mentorship and resources. Because of her alt cert, she never had student teaching experience and relied on the experience she had subbing which led her to struggle with preparing all that goes into running her own classroom. Because she took the Academy before she even had a job lined up, Beth was able to feel confident and prepared for her interviews and ultimately was able to jump right into things when she started her job two months after school had started.

We’ve all heard the saying, “work smarter, not harder". That is so true when it comes to preparing for your first years teaching. You don’t need to reinvent the wheel, instead learn from teachers who have been successful before you.

Beth realized how easily teachers can get sucked into spending hours and hours looking at all the beautiful classrooms on Pinterest or focusing on the wrong things. Thanks to the Academy and following the 5 steps, she was able to create a beautiful and functional classroom, plan out everything else she needed for her classroom, and not waste her precious time going down rabbit holes.

Join me in my FREE live masterclass to get proven steps to set up and organize your classroom and create a classroom management plan that actually works. This FREE live masterclass will be available June 6th, 7th, 8th, and 10th, 2023. Be sure to grab your spot and I can’t wait to see you there!
