Show Notes:

Beginning teachers often dream of the day when everything won’t feel so new all the time. They imagine that with experience will come more confidence, stronger classroom management, and the ability to handle challenging students and situations with ease. And while that can certainly be true, the reality is that experienced teachers never stop learning and growing in their practice.

My guest on today’s episode, Kayla, is a perfect example of an experienced teacher who refuses to coast through her career. After starting out teaching 2nd and 3rd grade, she was given the opportunity to transition into special education—a completely new chapter in her teaching journey. Always eager for a challenge and excited to learn new things, Kayla embraced the change.

With this new role came uncertainty and a fresh set of challenges, so Kayla decided to invest in her professional development. After spotting it in her principal’s summer newsletter, she enrolled in the R.E.A.D.Y. for School Academy. Even as a seasoned educator, she found tremendous value in the training and, wanting continued support, later joined the Classroom Management Club.

In this conversation, Kayla shares her experience teaching multiple grade levels and how being a member of the Classroom Management Club helped her navigate the transition into special education. Though she entered the program as an experienced teacher, she was still facing classroom struggles she wanted support with. She opens up about how the consistent support, clear step-by-step structure, and monthly professional development trainings helped her thrive in her new role.

No matter how many years you've spent in the classroom, the journey of teaching is never truly complete. Experienced educators understand that growth doesn’t end. It deepens with every new challenge and student. Kayla is living proof of that. By continuing to invest in her growth through the Classroom Management Club, she’s learning new skills that keep her teaching fresh, her students engaged, and her passion alive. Because in education, the best teachers never stop being learners.

Inside this week's show, you'll learn:

  • How the resources and materials inside the Classroom Management Club can support all teachers, including special education teachers.
  • How experienced teachers like Kayla use the Club to develop consistent routines, implement effective procedures, and manage challenging student behaviors.
  • Kayla’s favorite strategy from The Classroom Management Club and how it motivates her students to complete tasks on time.
  • How The Classroom Management Club feels like a supportive community where every teacher feels seen, heard, and never alone.
  • Why streamlining your work and tasks can help you stay consistent and avoid forgetting important details.
  • Kayla’s advice for teachers who are struggling with classroom management.
  • Why Kayla believes the Club is worth it—and how she uses it across all areas of her teaching.
