Show Notes:

Spooky season is here, and as teachers, we know what that comes with, right?๐ŸŽƒ Lots of Halloween energy! ๐ŸŽƒ So many other holidays trail behind Halloween, one after the other. Before you know it, it will be Thanksgiving, Christmas, the 100th Day of School, Valentine’s Day, and St. Patrick’s Day.

I’m sure you’ve noticed what happens by the time October rolls around. You’ve just gotten into a groove with your routines. You’re enjoying a honeymoon period with your sweet students. Then suddenly, the Halloween costumes and Halloween candy hit the aisles, and our kids get a little wild.

If we don’t find ways to manage and prepare for all of this energy that starts at Halloween, it’s going to be a very exhausting remainder of the school year. So, let’s go ahead and think about ways to manage these high-energy holidays while still enjoying them.

In this episode, I’m going to give you several ideas that you can use to make a Halloween class party really fun. These ideas will allow your students to funnel their energy into something that will be enjoyable for everybody. I have 22 class party game ideas and have divided them into three different categories.

The first category is all about great games and activities for small groups or centers. The second category is full of Halloween party games that you can play with the whole class, and the third category includes activities that you can do while your students are eating at your party to keep them from getting a little bit too wild!

There are many ways to organize a Halloween class party, so hopefully, these suggestions will give you plenty of inspiration for a party that will be great for your specific group of students. The best part is that the activities I’m recommending don’t cost a lot of money, are easy to set up, and are low-prep. Many of them are games that you can reuse year after year.

โœจTeacher Tipโœจ: Start a box or bin for each holiday. Inside this bin, keep a copy of everything that you do for that holiday so that it’s ready for you next year. Your future self will thank you!
