Show Notes:

If you’ve ever wondered if the information that I share on this podcast or the resources that are part of my Classroom Management Club are helpful, I’m here to tell you they are! My husband, Keith, is a devoted listener and has gained so much knowledge about teaching, managing a classroom, and every detail in between, despite never being a teacher himself.

I thought it would be a fun episode to not only have him as a guest on the podcast, but to ask him classroom management questions to see how much he has learned just from listening to each of my podcast episodes. Since my passion resides in helping beginning teachers, I asked Keith questions surrounding the five main areas of classroom management, which are crucial when you’re starting your own classroom.

These five main areas are so important that they’re the foundation of my Ready for School Academy, detailed in the Classroom Management Club, and focused in my new book that’s coming out in the spring. Keith recalls all the vital details of each classroom management area, while I reiterate how to successfully implement, communicate, or change your mindset with each area.

I created this podcast, the club, and all my resources because I saw a gap in knowledge from what was taught in college or university and what you actually needed to know having your own classroom. After hearing Keith, who again, has not taught in his life, integrate and share all he’s learned from listening to the podcast, I know it can be valuable to you as teachers!

Among the many new and exciting things happening in my life is a gift I want to give you! During the first week of January, I’m hosting a live event called Your Classroom Management Reset: Love Teaching More in 2024. This is a free event where each day I’m focusing on one area of classroom management and mindset shifts. You’ll get practical strategies, takeaways, and support for a new or refined 2024!

Inside this week's show, you'll learn:

  • The five main areas of classroom management and how it can benefit you as a beginning teacher
  • How valuable the information in this podcast is, especially coming from someone who doesn’t have education experience
  • Strategies to use pertaining to natural consequences and having a positive mindset, and the impact it has on your students
  • An amazing way you can access information from this podcast at your fingertips

I hope this information is helpful as you prepare for your first, second, or third year of teaching. Until next time, remember, just because you're a beginning elementary teacher, there's no need for you to struggle like one.
